Rep. Morgan Carroll needs your help!
We need your activist help to pass a significant health care reform in Colorado. Morgan Carroll introduced the FAIR Act on Friday (Fair Accountable Insurance Rates).
The insurance industry has added &717.95 BILLION to your premiums for surpluses ($6000B), CEO pay ($300M), stock options ($650M), profits ($18B), lobbying activities ($1B) and excess administration ($98B). This does not count any money actually spent on health care or necessary admin. This is more than the entire GDP of 194 countries, and it is an Outrage!!!
The bill will require:
~Insurance companies to justify al health or auto rate hikes before they take effect;
It gives the Insurance Commissioner the authority to reject unjustified rate hikes;
Brings transparency and data to better understand why our rates go up when they do.
The insurance industry has literally dozens of full time lobbyists in Colorado, which is where you come in!

Caucus
Training
Douglas County Democratic Party, Central Committed Meeting
Next year is our Presidential Election, and like Iowa, Colorado has a
Caucus. The Caucus is where any registered Democrat can speak out and
vote for his/her candidate to influence the outcome, precinct by precinct.
It truly is grass roots democracy.
We have immediate opportunities to participate in this process.
This Saturday, Nov 10, at the Phillip Miller Library in Castle Rock we
can all be trained in how the Caucus works to make it go smoothly on February
5, 2008. The Training is scheduled to start at 10:15 AM, going until noon.
It is preceded by an open MIC and business meeting at 9:30 AM. (This is
the Quarterly Douglas County Democrats Central Committee meeting.)
