14th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Unity Walk: Sunday, January 18 at 2:00 PM

The walk will begin at 2 PM at Fox Creek Elementary School, 6585 Collegiate Drive, Highlands Ranch (just west of Quebec between C-470 and Lincoln) and will proceed 1.7 miles to Highlands Ranch High School, 9375 Cresthill Lane where participants will enjoy refreshments and entertainment from 3 until 4 PM.

This is one of the largest suburban community celebrations in the country to honor MLK, and Douglas County Schools is encouraging students to attend. It is also rather low-key (i.e., no banners, balloons, signs, etc.) so any DC Dems that would like to walk together can informally congregate a few minutes beforehand.

In the past, the walk portion has been cancelled due to several feet of snow on the sidewalk, so check the website (or look outside that day) to see what the weather holds. The entertainment portion will likely proceed no matter what the weather holds.
